ESLA students inspired by their own local superstar, Bernie Hollywood

This week was a special week at ESLA as more than 300 students welcomed local icon, Bernie Hollywood in school to share his huge success and passion for life with staff and students.

Enterprise FC win again!

ESLA are the proud sponsors of Enterprise FC under 12s football team.  We are delighted that our continued support has seen the team progress to second in the conference cup league.  The team managed by Phil Henderson and Ian St John, son of the legendary striker Ian St John, have only lost one game since the start of the season.

Year 11 ‘Dare To Dream’ day

On Friday 22nd January, year 11 students took part in the Academy’s ‘Future Planning Day’ to consider their future career prospects and explore opportunities in Further and Higher education.

Dance Opportunity

Students at ESLA have been offered to participate in a fantastic opportunity - performing a dance medley at London's Royal Albert Hall.

Raising money for RLTH

Alex raised £1,301.17 in memory of her nana Pearl who was a patient in ward 7Y of the RLTH.

Year 7 and 8 Sports Hall Athletics

On Thursday, students from year 7 & 8 competed in the Liverpool School Sport Partnership's Indoor Athletics competition.
A total of 25 ESLA students participated in the event, against 5 other schools in the South Liverpool Area.

Year of Mercy - Community Project

Pope Francis has declared 2016 as being a year of mercy.  After some reflection and agreeing on a definition -“Mercy – an act of kindness, compassion, or favour”, our sixth form students have responded in core RE lessons by researching and planning their own “Projects of Mercy".

Topcon teams up to challenge gender gap

In a bid to challenge the construction industry gender gap, Topcon GB & Ireland recently joined forces with Enterprise South Liverpool Academy (ESLA) to inspire female students to consider a career in engineering.

Reading Quality Mark Celebration

In November 2015 ESLA were awarded with a Bronze Reading Quality Mark.  The National Literacy Trust and School Improvement Liverpool have introduced the Reading Quality Mark to Liverpool schools with an aim to promote and improve students enjoyment of reading.  As an academy we have been encouraging students to read and have recently opened our new school library which is constantly being stocked with new books!
